Position Summary & Responsibilities: As a Landfill Operator at Waste Management, you oversee daily waste disposal cell operations, tipping floor traffic, and environmental cover applications at regional landfill sites. You direct commercial haulers and public vehicles to active working faces, monitor incoming loads to prevent unauthorized or hazardous disposal, and ensure environmental compliance with ground-water and soil protection rules. Additionally, you manage site erosion control berms, conduct daily landfill gas system checks, and assist with equipment maintenance. This role is 100% physical and strictly requires full on-site presence at facility grounds (zero remote capability).
Qualifications & Benefits: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Requires 2+ years of experience in landfill operations, civil construction, or heavy industrial labor. Ability to work outdoors across all seasonal weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs is required.
